About

The Lagrange Democratic Committee works to elect democrats to local offices. The committee strives to increase membership and the participation of Lagrange voters.

What is a democratic committee?

Local committees are made up of members of the Dutchess County Democratic Committee residing in each town. The Lagrange Democratic Committee has members from the town’s seven election districts. These committee members attend Dutchess Democratic County Committee meetings and events, representing the Democrats within their respective election districts.

What does the democratic committee do?

They have a voice on party matters and vote for candidates at the county level. They select county committee officers and vote on procedural issues. They also endorse candidates at the town, county, state, and national level.

The town committee chair is a member of the Executive Committee of the county committee.

Town committee members work with leadership of the county committee to:
• Work to obtain candidates to fill elected positions
• Obtain signatures on candidate petitions for primaries and elections
• Work with the county committee to promote democratic candidates and values

Join us for a meeting and see all the things we do for yourself! Any town of Lagrange democrat is welcome to join us. Time and date of meetings to be announced.
